Little Dragons (3 -5 yrs)

This class is a lot of fun. Children play games that help with co-ordination, balance and brain stimulation. There is also Stranger Danger tactics and Self Defence. There is NO grading’s in this class the children are rewarded just for turning up. They receive stickers every class and when they have enough stickers they receive a stripe and after 5 stripes they move onto their next belt. Learning Fire Drills as well as other house hold dangers are part of our teaching as well. (There is No sparring in this class)

Little Ninja's (6 yrs - 9 yrs)

Little Ninja classes are specially designed for 6 - 9 year old children interested in learning the art of Kaizen Ryu while playing games and having fun in a controlled environment. This is the start of their grading syllabus and the focus of these classes are to have fun, play games and provide the children with a healthy and safe form of exercise. Items of use within the classes include things like Balloons, Pool Noodles and Sock’em Boppers and over sized boxing gloves etc.

Kiddz Karate (10 yrs - 14 yrs)

The major emphasis of the Teen Karate (10 to 14 years) training program is to encourage every child to participate in a range of movement and social development activities and to achieve a level of competence. This will ensure success and a feeling of enjoyment and satisfaction drawn from performing a variety of motor skills and participation in various social skill development activities.

 This program contains a variety of activities conducted within our school and are aimed at achieving the objectives below:

Adult Karate (15 yrs +)

Our adult classes follow the traditional coloured karate belt levels, but Kaizen Ryu takes the approach that every belt is different. with each new belt you focusing on a new more technical topic than the first and adapts each of these topics into modern self-defence applications. listed below is a rough outline of the stages form white belt to black belt after black belt the training continues to 4th dan with each belt carrying a new topic.

 White Belt - this is the initiation level start the classes and your automatically a white belt

 Yellow Belt - focuses on basic punching, kicking, footwork and basic self defence.

 Orange Belt - basic elbow and knee techniques, and the strengthening of previous techniques

 Purple Belt - takedown maneuvers for throwing your opponent to the ground as well as basic trapping and locking techniques.

 Blue Belt - Grappling at this level students focus on the art of upright wrestling.

 Green Belt - at this level the first weapon is introduced and students learn how to use every day objects as weapons for defence

 Brown Belt - ground fighting is now introduced and the student learns who to both defend up form the ground and fight on the ground

 Black Belt - sees the reiteration of all previous knowledge with the introduction of the second weapon in the style.
